Senior defence and national security consultant with 25+ years’ experience in program management, logistics, ICT capability, and multi‑domain operations.

Professional Experience

Commenced in 2023, Sean was appointed as the Program Manager in the Australian Combat Management System (AusCMS) executing the Enterprise Partnership Arrangement (EPA) with Saab Australia. He is responsible to establish the EPA to deliver agile development of the AusCMS product families into the Navy fleet. In 2020, Sean was appointed to lead the delivery of integrated logistics within Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems Branch of Ships Division CASG. Delivering over $35billion in projects (14) and products services ranging from Underwater submarine capable acoustic ranges and magnetic treatment facilities through to weapons and sensors systems including Combat Management and undersea remote and autonomous systems. Sean grew the Commonwealth team (increased by 60 staff) and conducted three tender evaluations over and above project deliverables. In 2019, Sean was appointment to lead the ICT capability development for Warfighting Networks and Applications, particularly in the operations and planning domains. During the period 1993-2019, Sean was a senior uniformed officer responsible for Command of Joint Logistics Unit West, and leadership across Ministerial Liaison which included Senate briefings, sensitive issues management and media relations. Other duties included a diplomatic posting to the Embassy in Washington and to the Middle East to negotiate solutions to sustain deployed forces.

Other Experience

Sean is a recognised board director and graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). He has volunteered on Not-For-Profit boards at Anglican Diocese of Canberra including leadership of significant school construction and Parish leadership to re-roof the oldest building in Canberra. Currently on the board of the RAN Ski Club undertaking a multimillion-dollar renovation of the Thredbo lodge. Sean is a Commander in the Royal Australian Navy. His reserve commitment is currently leading and supporting Forces across multi domain operations. Sean is available and has previously been invited to join think tanks to facilitate industry building in the Defence sector both in Australia and abroad. Sean is a recognised Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport of Australia (FCILT) where he is also a Certified Practicing Logistician (CPL). A member of Australian Institute of Project Management (MAIPM), Sean is certified as a Practising Project Director (CPPD).
